That summer, Traver and Amy met missionaries Steven and Christy Maldoff for the first time. They were able to assist the Maldoffs in a variety of ministries including Holiday Bible Club, Teen activities, Sunday School, and leading a three day program at Mildura Christian College (College is Australian for Academy; University describes secondary education, also called Uni for short). Traver also began assisting in the Media Ministry of Murray River Baptist Church designing a Kid's Club poster, church tracts, and newspaper advertisement ideas. Throughout the three weeks, 2 people received salvation, trusting in Christ's death and resurrection as payment for their sins.
Following the missions trip, Traver and Amy began a relationship. In the following summer of 2010, Traver was an intern with Murray River Baptist Church under the direction of Steven Maldoff. He spent 3 months in the work of the ministry with many hands-on opportunities to experience daily life and ministry. For the first two months, Traver was directly involved in helping out with Kid's Club, teaching Bible in the public schools, leading Teen Club, and continuing his work with the Media Ministry. During the last month, Team Australia 2010 from Go Forth Baptist Missions arrived, along with Amy. Together again, Traver and Amy took their experience from the previous year and led the way at Mildura Christian College and directed at Holiday Bible Club. That year, they were also able to be counselors at Ankara Camp hosted by South West Baptist Church of Adelaide, South Australia. Throughout this trip, 7 placed their faith in the finished work of Christ for their salvation and many more made decisions to serve Christ.
Upon returning to the States, Traver and Amy were engaged. Traver began his Master of Divinity at Pensacola Theological Seminary as Amy finished up her Bachelor of Science in Commercial Art. They were married on June 4, 2011. That summer, classes prevented the Freeman's from going to Australia. Amy began work on her Master of Bible Exposition with PTS in the fall of 2011. In the summer of 2012, Traver and Amy became missionaries to Australia with Baptist International Missions Inc., BIMI.
In the summer of 2012, Traver and Amy returned on their third trip to Mildura, Australia to assist the Maldoff's. This was their final trip before returning to the field full-time. Following the completion of their Seminary degrees in the summer of 2013, Traver and Amy began their full-time pre-field ministries. Will you pray for God to raise the support they need to return to the field quickly?
